We liked heading down to the Garden Bar and made the most of the two for one drinks. We ate at the buffet about 4 or 5 times and also ate there for christmas lunch. We had a brilliant rate for around $50 per night (weekeds were slightly more expensive) which also included a dining voucher.l checked in at the airport, there was no line, and the friendly reservation staff aknowledged my request for a strip facing room, and placed my mother in the room 2 doors down.We were on the 22nd floor (lf l remember correctly)and we were really happy with the rooms. The room was huge, had a clean bathroom, kingsize bed, sofa and glass table. My sister who stayed at NY NY, and then the Bellagio, wished she had booked along with us for the excellent value. L stayed at The flamingo over Christmas 2003.My mum flew out from Australia for the same duration and we both booked our accommodation online with The Flamingo. I will never pay to see her again nor recommend her show to others. What she did was to insult our intelligence with a poor showing. I can't believe that she "took the money and ran." She owed it to her fans to apologize, refund the money and cancel the performance if she was ill. I had seen Gladys perform about 15 years ago and it was fantastic. I think this is reprehensible and totally unacceptable. The show headlined Gladys Knight, that is who we paid to see and she only sang 2-3 songs. I think we were cheated from having a good show since two-thirds of the show was not performed by Gladys but her brother and another "new" performer. I was totally disappointed and although I traveled only from CA, my friends traveled from Florida. It was obvious that everyone in the audience was so shocked at the short length of the show that most just sat in their chairs long after the curtain went down, as if in a state of shock. By 8:40pm the show was over and we were leaving the theater. We are retired active adults who could not afford the floor seating so we opted for the balcony seats at $68.50 each. Her trademark voice exudes soul, power and passion. My friends and I purchased tickets to see the Gladys Knight show on Saturday, May 8, 2004, a 7:30 pm show. This dynamic, legendary performer continues to provide top-quality entertainment. The Gladys Knight in Las Vegas special engagement has been well-received.
